PBN Map tool

The PBN Map tool

The PBN Map Tool has been updated and shows the implementation status and plans for PBN procedures in the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) area. It’s main focus is the deployment of PBN approaches (RNP APCH and RNP AR APCH) and PBN Standard instrument departure/arrival routes (SID/STAR). In addition, the tool provides information related to the progress of PBN IR (EU 2018/1048) implementation.

The tool is feature-rich, providing information on:

  • the deployment progress based on actual publications (according to the States’ AIPs). The deployment of PBN approach procedures has been monitored since 2012 and since 2021 for PBN SID/STAR;
  • the future deployment trends based on publication plans documented in draft PBN Transition Plans submitted by the ATM/ANS providers;
  • the PBN IR implementation status;
  • the Navigation Specifications (RNAV1, RNP1) and navigation sensors (GNSS, DME/DME with or without IRS) for PBN SID/STAR routes;
  • where “Radius to Fix (RF)” turns are required on RNP 1 PBN SID/STAR procedures;
  • PBN procedures for helicopters (at RNP 0.3);
  • the status of conventional procedures in the TMA.
